changing SYSDBA password

Hi to all,

we use sapdb in an test environment (it's version 7.4.3 Build 
017-123-039-277).

When I try to change the SYSDBA password with dbmgui or user_put direct I 
get an error message :

-24988 sql error 

Can anybody help me
