Dear Marco,
Thanks for writing back. I did start the x_server originally. But now it is requiring a restart because I think my database is full? (This is what it says in webdbm, under "State.") Is there anyway to stop and then restart the maxdb server?

Hi, did you have started the xserver (MaxDB communication server)? The jdbc driver need it also for local communication. You can start the xserver with the following command: x_server start . Under windows you can also start it from the service control panel.

Sorry for the second email. I was also getting an error:
[-813] Restart required (from com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.ConnectionException)
How does one force such a restart?
Thanks,
Si Chen
