We use MaxDB mainly for our SAP applications, our total datavolume held by
the DB is about 2.8 TB spread on different systems. The biggest system is a
~ 500 GB system with about 600 concurrent users working on. Our strategic
platform is Linux.

Since we don't use the python/perl drivers or SQLDBC I can't tell much about
this but out of my experience the DB is rock solid. We have very few crashes
(if any) that could be circumvented by setting parameters and that were os
related.

There are some glitches and issues with the optimizer then and when but it's
nothing really causing impact on our production and there are in 99 % of the
cases workarounds if even necessary.

>From an administrator point of view there are always chaging small things
(e. g. a DB re-initialization via dbmgui not formatting devspaces) but those
could always be solved with the excellent help of the (commercial)
SAP-support.

I can't confirm the problems several people mailed on the list (crashes,
wrong results) but this may be due to our environment which is nearly 100 %
SAP only.
