Actually there was a bug that could produce the observed problem. Since 
7.4.03 is not any more available for you, please upgrade the ODBC driver to 
the current 7.5.00. The fix in question is included beginning with build 20. 
There is no compatibility issue for accessing DBs with minor release.

If there is still a problem please let me know.
