During the search for a solution to use compression for the backup of a R/3 MaxDB database via legato networker I only found the suggestion to put a compression tool between the backup pipe of the MaxDB database and the legato networker save/restore command. Unfortunately I found no description of an exact implementation and no information regarding a (un)successful implementation. Therefore I have the following questions: Can anybody provide any implementation details for using compression with MaxDB and legato networker and has anybody implemented this successful?
