We do not have experience with MaxDB in TB area.  From what I know
with smaller databases I would not trade in an Oracle for MaxDB. My
reasons:

 - MaxDB uses up disk space significantly faster than Oracle (twice as
fast for our app)

 - MaxDB is significantly slower (seconds vs. hours for some queries)

 - We recently stepped into erros that had me start questioning the
reliability of MaxDB.

YMMV though.
