Just for me to understand:
1. you have a database foodb that is online
2. you start an event dispatcher with dbmevtdisp start...
3. you do a dbmevtdisp state... exactly as you wrote (which returns the
answer that you showed above)
4. you do a dbmevtdisp stop... exactly as you wrote (which returns the
answer that you showed above)

Are you sure you did nothing in between?

Please provide the file dbm.prt from foodb's rundirectory.

Which build on which platform exactly do you use? I figure it's 7.6.16
on some linux, but with mine here I cannot reproduce the error.
