Great, that you got a running solution! Could you please share your results for
inclusion in the documentation?

For your problem with the login screen:

I didn't check in the recent code and therefore don't know for sure, if that
step was lost from the documentation (?), but formerly it was necessary to
collect the static data with

$ ./manage.py collectstatic

Could you perhaos try this?
