I plan to use mayan-edms as the main app of a "platform" intended to
support a pedagogical model for online "communities of practice"; their
activities will include cataloguing, remixing and translation of "open
educational resources" (OER).
Last month, I installed mayan-edms 1.0 on an Ubuntu-14.04 AWS instance, but
did almost nothing with it till now. Now I want to install version 1.1,
which appears to include very interesting upgrades.
In the course of several months we should integrate additional Django apps
and external services, and develop a wall-style user interface.
To deal with complexity gradually, I prefer to start with a simple, almost
default, configuration of mayan-edms, without caring much scale and
performance issues.
While I hope that, in the future, I will find no problem in moving data and
metadata from, say, Sqlite to Postgres, I wander if there is some utility
and/or suggested procedure to move document files from a file-system
storage back-end to a MongoDb back-end.
Thank you very much in advance!
