Also thanks for pointing me to Simon's articles on perl.com. I've already printed them to paper which will give me a good read tonight... I haven't yet worked with the Template::Toolkit. I know there's even a dedicated O'Reilly title alone on that (the one with the badger on the cover). How essential is in-depth knowledge of Template::Toolkit? Will a superficial grasp suffice to get started, anyway? I also realized that Maypole seems to rely on DBI::Class. Though I have written a few backup and monitoring scripts with DBI and DBD::Oracle, I haven't used the DBI::Class interface yet. Btw, how did they arrive at the name Maypole? Overhere in Germany Maypoles (aka Maibaum in German) are an old custom in rural parts, especially in the south like in Bavaria, which are errected in May and then fancy dressed Girls are dancing around them, each holding a thread while they weave up and disentangle again funny patterns. But as for us Berliners this is totally unknown in our part of Germany, and we regard it as some odd, mythical fertility ritual, or similar.
