Hi Craigbert,

I bought some time ago and I am using on some projects the Audio Meta Data
Suite.

http://homepage.mac.com/rowlands/realbasic/amds.html

it's not a plugin, but is a suite of protected classes, and yes it's
cross.platform ( at least mac os and windows, don't know about linux )
It has not been updated for a long time, and it's not free nor cheap ( it costs
150 $ ), but it just quickly solved my problem of reading and writing mp3 tags
for a couple of payed projects, so I didn't mind to pay for it.

I'm still using it and it does its job

hope this helps,

    Giulio
