Hey Christian, I'm not sure if you remember this, but I had - and have - an issue with the audio plugins.
I found, with Yosemite, there was an issue with CoreMIDI initializing (that is, your plug makes it initialize), and it in doing so it scans the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL folder. The problem I was encountering is that, at least with OSX 10.10 and higher, people who used something like ProTools in a previous OSX and they updated their OSX, it retained the previous plugins and Avid either replaces them or doesn't delete them when updating/reinstalling ProTools. We came to this conclusion over several emails, and since then this is my response to customers who find my apps stalling on startup: www.samplerzone.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5135 OK - I'd like to advance this. Since then this has been a constant problem. It isn't killing my programs, but I get complaints way too much. Plus there's no way to workaround this, like put up some type of dialog, etc. because your plug stalls before any of my code even runs. Not only that, I don't find any other application from anyone having this problem, so it makes my apps look stupid. You said the stalling happens as a result of "CoreMIDI initializing", but why is this only a problem with MBS and not anything else? Is there a better solution to this?
