Hi guys,

The talk in the altnet mailing list (which Andrew has been involved in) has
been around providing more fluent interfaces for unit tests. Just wanted to
post that here so it's not lost sight of with future iterations (apologies
if it's already captured, I havn't been following this list very closely).

Also I will have some cycles coming up so there's a need for a code monkey
on the upgrade, let me know offline.

Thanks

Subject: MbUnit Re: what do you want to see in v3

Being able to compare two Hashtables for equality would be nice.
Also, it would be nice to not only compare two objects for equality,
but also compute the difference between the two and report that
back to user as a string. I often end up writing code like that by hand,
which writes to the report by using Debug.Writeln(...);
so that I can figure out why the failure occurred sometimes by only
looking at the generated test report.
That code often makes the body of the test method twice as long as
it would be without this diagnostic information.
It would be nice to be able to leverage MbUnit's API to make the
testing code shorter, yet perfectly readable.

Thanks.

Hi,

First my apologies for the silence in these parts as of late, as many of you
know I have a baby on the way :). The team has however been working very
hard, day and night on MbUnit v3 and a alph1 drop is getting very close now.
More and more details will be announced about v3 over the coming weeks
however I want to ask what do you dislike about MbUnit right now and what do
you want to see in v3. Some things I have mentioned previously is that v3
targets .NET 2.0 and is a ground up rewrite of everything, from the
framework to the runners.

Thanks

Andy
