This was pebkac. when I right click on the test project and choose "Run Test(s)" from the context menu, it runs fine. If I go down one more to "Test With" MbUnit is not in the list. I'm assuming the the "Test With" is NOT part of TD.NET and part of VS 2008. So it is VS 2008 that doesn't recognize MbUnit 3.
