I think you are misreading proski. I think you should read "only S-Lang 2" as in contrast to both slang1 and slang2. I don't believe proski proposes to drop curses support. He can correct me if I'm wrong. However, I do not agree with that. The advantage of using an internal version is that it is more easily patchable than the system library itself. Also I think we can stick with 2 internal versions for a while (a year?) to let people get acquainted and comfortable with the new version instead of forcing it upon them.
