Please inform your undergraduate students of this summer research opportunity in the health sciences. The UCSF Summer Research Training Program (SRTP) provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to conduct research in the biological, biomedical, and behavioral sciences. Through this comprehensive 9-week summer experience, the SRTP strives to prepare students for graduate study and a research career in the health sciences. Each summer, up to 50 college students planning to earn a Ph.D. in the health sciences spend 9 weeks working with UCSF faculty members on research projects. At the end of the program they submit abstracts and give oral and poster presentations of their SRTP research. Seminars on scientific and professional development topics are presented. Social events, a recreation day, and small group activities in San Francisco round out the program such that students bond closely with their new-found friends and future professional colleagues.
