SRA Position Open at UCSF Cancer Center, Hiring ASAP!
  The SRA will perform as lab technician and assist with lab 
management; be responsible for research focused on exploring the 
effects of nutrients on gene expression in prostate biopsy tissue 
before and after an intervention; perform RNA isolation, 
amplification and cDNA micro array processing. This position offers 
excellent opportunities for intellectual growth and training in 
cutting-edge genomics technologies.  Incumbent will be exposed to 
chemical agents, blood, and body fluids or tissue.
  SKILLS AND VARIETY OF DUTIES REQUIRED BY POSITION
  % of Total Work Effort, Description of Duties
  25% Collect biopsy specimen, use cryostat to cut tissues and do 
tissue microdissection; do H&E and IHC staining; process blood 
samples;
  40% Do RNA extractions; PCR and RT-PCR to amplify RNA;
  25% Couple cDNA to dyes; Hybridize samples to microarray; scan and 
grid microarrays; analyze microarray data;
  10% Order materials; keep accurate records of experiments and 
procedures; update database
