Job Description: Under guidance of a Principal Investigator or postdoctoral associates, perform routine experiments aimed at understanding the mechanisms of HIV gene expression and transcriptional regulation, including molecular cloning, PCR, mammalian cell culture, affinity-purification of proteins, and other biochemical procedures. Perform routine lab maintenance duties. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include molecular cloning, PCR, mammalian cell culture, affinity-purification of proteins and other biochemical procedures. General lab organization and management: ordering supplies, routine lab upkeep, sending out requested reagents to other investigators and contacting companies for equipment purchase and repair. Instruct undergraduate lab helpers on routine lab cleanings. Requirements & Qualifications: BS or BA degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology, or equivalent related experience. Recent Biochemistry or Molecular Biology lab research experience. Must be responsible, motivated, and resourceful. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
