POSITION PURPOSE: Perform experiments relating to R&D projects. http://www.chemicon.com/company/employ.asp ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Design and perform product development and optimization experiments. Ensure compliance with established methods and protocols. Troubleshoot experimental failures, including devising correct compensatory experiments. Escalate most complex issues to supervisor. Collect, analyze, and compile data. Prepare technical reports, project summaries and updates, and protocols as requested for quantitative analyses. Maintain concise and accurate written records for all projects. 2. As assigned, develop new product project plans including full project life cycle. 3. Develop, establish, and document appropriate quality control, manufacturing, and other procedures for new products. Provide updates as required. 4. Assemble kits for R&D lots. Transfer developed products to appropriate manufacturing departments (e.g. Quality Control, Manufacturing, etc), and train staff. 5. Prepare reagents, documents and material for production of products. 6. Complete general laboratory tasks, including but not limited to materials ordering and maintaining equipment documentation. Maintain laboratory records and notebooks. Ensure all work complies with established process and procedures. 7. Follow up on customer/collaborator evaluations of new projects. 8. Provide written and verbal reports or related presentations as requested. 9. Complete other related duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. BS Degree in Biological Sciences and a minimum of two (2) years experience or, MS Degree with up to two years experience. 2. Minimum of one to two years experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, IHC or Antibody development. 3. Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize workload. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to create clear, concise written reports/presentations/documentation. 5. Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations. 6. Knowledge of cGMP and GLP is desired. 7. Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer software in a business environment with specific knowledge and skill with word processing, spreadsheets and graphics. Microsoft Office experience preferred.
