*Job Title: Project Manager * 6+ Months Work Location: US MN Job Description: Infrastructure Project Manager Objective: The Technical Project Manager role is to manage the development and implementation of all critical IT Infrastructure\Security projects. This includes planning, collaborating and coordinating resources and activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within predetermined time frame. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and monitor assigned technical projects. • Take full responsibility for keeping project cost and schedule on track. • Utilize project management tools/techniques (e.g., PERT charts, critical path method, earned value) to track and manage project costs and schedules. • Communicate difficult technical or complex ideas in a straightforward manner. • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences. • Demonstrate critical thinking and grasp complexities and relationships between issues • Analyze and synthesize information and identifies alternatives. • Effective in solving problems in a team environment. • Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking; make sound and timely decisions under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty. • Clearly communicate team goals and keep team focused. • Deliver results in a resource-constrained organization. • Assist sub-teams in planning and estimating techniques for various activities. • Monitor progress against plans and make mid-course corrections as needed. • Conduct periodic reviews and ensure timely communication between teams. • Effectively prioritizes and handles multiple concurrent activities. • Accurately and quickly identify potential conflicts that impact delivery commitments and reschedule or renegotiate commitments. • Effectively shift from one project to another without sacrificing quality or impacting delivery dates. • Participates in change control (for example, reviewing configuration change requests). • Provide project summary status reports to IT Senior Management team. Qualifications: • Prefer 4-year college degree in computer science or MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 6-7 years experience managing technical projects. • Has experience utilizing various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles. • Understands and uses project management standards, processes, and procedures. • Has the ability to quickly evaluate and analyze project issues, present conclusions, make persuasive recommendations, and apply project management process and project related experiences to implement appropriate solutions. • Can clearly and completely determines the baseline scope for complex projects and/or programs that include several projects. • Has experience managing schedules and using various cost management approaches. • Has managed budgets and timelines of high-level, high-impact, and high-cost projects. • Has experience using risk management processes (e.g., identification and quantification). • Uses various tools/techniques to quantify risks (e.g., statistical sums and decision trees). • Is creative and flexible in effectively managing program-level risks and issues. • Proficient in Microsoft Project software. • Broad experience with data centers, platforms and application support elements. Knowledge of LAN\WAN architecture and typology and associated protocols and standards. • Has prior hands-on experience with the various Microsoft product and other software technologies: Windows Server 2003, Exchange, SQL Databases, Sharepoint, and Citrix. • Knowledge of developments and new applications of information technology (hardware, software, telecommunications), emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and applications and implementation of information systems to meet organizational requirements. • Experience working in a fast paced and demanding work environment. • Works well with highly technical personnel in a multi-cultural environment. • Strong background and knowledge of all aspects of testing such as component, regression, functional, systems integration and user acceptance testing. • Highly self motivated and directed. *“Recruiting is made easier with JobPencil.com” * JobPencil.com – is the leading technology job portal which connects the Employers looking to hire highly talented professionals and the candidates looking for right opportunities and employers.
