What are the day to day responsibilities of this position? Support the
implementation of Network Performance Monitoring Using NetScout:
Configure Netscout to send alerts related to the network performance to the
appropriate teams
Analyze network performance data to establish performance benchmark
Build Service Monitors and Service Dashboards
*Required Skills/ years of experience needed:*
The Monitoring and Event Management Team is looking for a Monitoring
Engineer with solid understanding Event Management Framework, Network
Systems, Network Performance Management, Net Scout,. The candidate should
be able to troubleshoot build service monitors, dasboards, and configure
alerting threshold. A strong knowledge in network infrastructure and
protocol is required.
• Proven experience implementing and administering network
monitoring, alerting and capacity plannting tools
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience working with Cisco
networking technology
• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN design and
implementation
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network
security principles and general network management best practices
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to use Visio to document network topologies
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must have ability to self-manage tasks and deliverables on
assigned projects
• Ability to work as part of a global network team
*Desired Skills:*
• BS in computer-related degree (or equivalent) with 3 to 5
years of progressively responsible in Network Performance Monitoring and
Event
Management related experiences.
• 2 to 5 years experience using Netscout or Network Performance
Monitoring technology for application and system monitoring
• Good analytical and detail oriented skills, strong customer
focus, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands on experience with network management, server
management, and administration.
• Ability to develop custom scripts to automate workflows
using, PowerShell and other server based scripts
• Configure synthetic monitoring scripts to measure
availability and performance of applications.
• Perform analyses and studies, prepare reports, and give
presentations.
