Hi Adrienne, (Sorry for the delay in replying; I tend to let my mailing list messages pile up and then I go through them in a batch. :-) )
I have just recently been appointed "Senior coordinator of online public programs" at the Art Gallery of NSW, after 9 years of being the Website manager and, before that the Senior coordinator of education programs, and I'm still coming to grips with what my new job actually means. According to my position description: The position helps fulfil the Gallery?s education and audience objectives in the Public Programs Department, in particular through the website, e-newsletters, e-learning and interactive white board technology. [The position-holder will:] Plan and manage the flow of Public Programs and curatorial communications, information, images and other content that goes onto the Gallery?s website via the Public Programs Department. Develop appropriate strategies for efficiently prioritising, editing and uploading ongoing diverse communications projects and tasks. Be responsible for editing this information and imagery to meet Gallery standards and requirements before uploading onto the website. Liaise regularly with Website team and Marketing Department staff to coordinate the delivery of online content. Play an active part within the Public Programs Department strategy of developing audiences, increasing engagement and attracting new audiences. Our Public Programs department looks after both [general] public programs (lectures, performances etc) and education programs (kindergarten to tertiary), so I am required, amongst other things, to keep our calendar up-to-date.
