Narda - We have a touchscreen station in our gallery that allows visitors to access more information about the objects on display in a Chinese Treasure Wall - a large display cabinet that would be difficult to label aesthetically. Essentially, we've recreated the cabinet and objects on a touchscreen interface - touching the photo of the object brings up a larger photo and extended didatics. Our hardware consists of two Mac Minis running Macromedia Director. I'm not certain of the touchscreen models, but they're standard 15" displays mounted in a cabinet. Obviously, Macromedia was bought by Adobe, so it's Adobe Director now...
Would be interesting to explore the possibilities the iPad could bring to this application.
