Senior Educator
The
Frye Art Museum seeks a dynamic, experienced, and forward-thinking
educator to partner with the Senior Deputy Director (Head of Education),
museum staff and with our diverse community to conceive and direct arts
engagement programs that redefine and transform the relationship
between the Museum and the communities it serves and between the viewer
and the multi-disciplinary art it exhibits. Candidates should send cover

The Senior Educator will:
Welcome
targeted communities into the Museum?s creative process inviting their
participation and incorporating their feedback through programs and
events specifically conceived for and with them.Model engagement for multiple
external voices and disciplines.Foster
and celebrate the rich multiplicity of global perspectives embedded in
our diverse social fabric through programs and events.Privilege the
participants? and viewers? intuition and creativity in interactive and
evaluative processes.Foster
intense, ongoing conversations between artists and the Museum, and
between artists and the diverse communities they serve, by means of
?living,? multi-disciplinary programs and events that expand beyond the
Museum?s walls, into the street and neighborhood.Value the process as highly as
the product, thereby opening up an extraordinary range of artistic
possibilities

Qualifications and Skills MA in art
history, contemporary art, museum studies or a related fieldSeven years of
experience working in an art museum or arts organization or a community based
organizationDemonstrated ability in building audiences for arts organizations
Experience in writing grant proposals, engaging in fundraising efforts, and
managing budgetsPassion for cross platform innovationAbility to forge strong
and effective working relationships with a wide variety of partners inside and
outside the MuseumStrong interpersonal skills and ability to engage people with
diverse perspectivesProven experience in building teamsWorking knowledge of new
technologies in education and the arts
