JOB TITLE Web Designer/Developer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Web Designer/Developer assists in the ongoing 
maintenance and enhancement of the Walker website. This position will be 
responsible for programming related to the website's front-end interface, 
including programming new online features and front-end functionality, working 
with the Senior New Media Designer to develop new design templates, and 
handling updates to existing pages or features as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES Primary focus will be on front-end development with some 
back-end work. Technical responsibilities include front-end design and 
programming for the web; and creation of interactive multimedia projects. 
Project responsibilities include the Walker website including maintenance and 
writing for Walker Blogs. Work with internal clients to plan and implement 
projects and provide support to staff using tools produced by the department.

QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Design/Media, related degree or equivalent experience 
required. 2+ years designing and building interfaces for the web. Proven skills 
designing for interaction and web are a must. Solid understanding of web 
standards including HTML5, CSS, and Javascript/jQuery required. Programming 
experience preferred, as well as knowledge of Linux/OSX, Python, and PHP. Also 
a plus: XSLT, blogging, and streaming media. Ability to communicate and consult 
directly with clients in the planning and execution of projects is essential.

SALARY From mid-$40K to mid-$50K doq; excellent benefits available.
