One thing you don't mention is the level of technical expertise at your
museum, and whether you are looking for something you would bring
up/maintain in house or would like to have hosted. That might be a way to
narrow the many good recommendations that have been made here. Cost may
also be a factor: are you looking at commercial options or strictly Open
Source?

I am personally a fan of Sharepoint 2010 - 2013 which does pretty much
everything you're looking for and for which there are many hosted options
if you don't want to do it yourself. It does require intrastructure and,
even if hosted, someone who's willing to become an expert on the ins and
out (but that's probably true of anything you're looking at).
