Subject: SIG-INTERNET

Hello all.

The Getty Information Institute has just recently opened a pilot project in
the Getty Museum called the Digital Experience. Dedicated to helping the
visiting public access cultural content on the World Wide Web, the Digital
Experience is a small gallery with fourteen computer workstations, all
networked to a T1 line. The room is staffed to provide hands-on
guidance, from basic mousing to more advanced database searching
techniques.

I am currently gathering information in preparation for the MCN Annual
Conference in Sept. Are there any other museums hosting similar
internet projects? Does your museum offer the public any live internet
access? If so, how many computers are dedicated to the internet?

Thanks for your replies.
