We do not have a formal policy. Our goal is to develop computer literate,
Internet savvy users so that they can make informed, articulate decisions
about how this technology is used in their part of the museum. We
encourage people to use the net for personal reasons, encourage people to
play computer games, help people to sign up for listservs, and make every
effort to make the net as easy to use and as open as possible. This can
only serve the museum's long-term interests.

>Do you limit access or is it offered to all staff?
Internet access and e-mail is offered to all staff. We maintain a space
where those without computers can come to access the Internet & Intranet.

>Do you block undesirable sites?
No. Can't imagine being the person who would have to spend time deciding
what is undesirable.

>Do you let staff download software?
Yes, but we reserve the right to reformat their hard drives and restore a
"default" configuration. In practice we never have to do this because the
people who do download are also very self-sufficient.

>Do you let all staff participate in listservs?
Yes.
