Hello everyone,
The MCN Standards SIG would like to invite all MCN/CIMI attendees to
two SIG-related events in Cincinnati next week:
1. "Out in the Open: The Importance of Standards in the Museum
Community," Thursday 25 October from 1:30 to 3:00. Organized by the
Controlled Vocabulary, Digital Imaging, and Standards SIGs, this
panel will focus on the ways in which using data standards can help
to support both collaboration among museums and multiple means of
access tailored to the needs of diverse users.
2. The Standards SIG meeting, Saturday 27 October at 9:00. This will
be an opportunity to discuss museum standards practices and issues,
ideas for SIG activities, possible panel topics for MCN 2002, and any
standards questions attendees--especially newcomers--may have
wondered about for years or just since hearing a presentation a day
or two before.
All attendees are welcome at both; we hope you can make it!
