Hello there I'm currently doing research on online cultural heritage exhibitions. If you have been involved in creating online exhibitions, you're invited to contribute your professional input to this research in the form of an e-survey. The purpose of the survey is to find out what issues cultural institutions (archives, museums, libraries, etc) face with setting up the online exhibitions. These may include technology, funding, standards, etc; essentially, issues that support or hinder access.
A short background of this project and myself: I'm a postgrad student at the School of Library and Information Studies assisting on this research project funded by the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The principal investigator is Dr. Chernli Liew, a lecturer at the university. If you'd like to participate, I'd be happy to send you an executive summary of our findings when the project is complete. "Online exhibitions" are a relatively recent phenomenon - already I'm finding that archivists/curators in different parts of the world have varying notions of what it means - so the findings should be quite interesting. The fact of its recency also means that little is known about it; so your experience, if you've created online exhibitions, would be very valuable to this research. The e-survey might take 15-25 minutes on average to complete; however, you may save the progress of the form and complete it in stages. Here's the link: http://surveys.sim.vuw.ac.nz/survey.aspx?surveyid=4&uid=[--invitationi d-] Thank you all very much in advance. You're most welcome to write to me if you've any questions about this project. I'd love to hear from you - what experiences you have had, challenges you've encountered. . .it's always interesting to exchange these ideas.
