Hi Dana

Remember me from the Crit session at the Museums & the Web Conference??!!
We made some good changes to our navigtation based on that session. We have
an online survey on our 1704 website - www.1704.deerfield.history.museum. We
built this. No incentives. It's quite obvious on the home page. Too soon to
tell the response rate, but we've certainly been collecting data in our
database. No branching. I would be interested in what you learn. This survey
was intended for summative evaluation. Best, Lynne

Subject: Online surveys of Web visitors

> Hi everyone,
>
> At the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, we are getting ready to do an
> online survey of our web visitors, and I thought I'd tap into the
> collective wisdom of the MCN list.
>
> 1) Has anyone done online surveys on their websites?
> 2) What online survey tool did you use?
> 3) Did you offer any incentives, such as free passes to the museum or
> the chance to win something like an iPod?
> 4) How did you announce it? Was it a pop-up that automatically loaded on
> your homepage?
> 5) What kind of response rate did you get?
> 6) How long was the survey?
> 8) Did your survey include any type of question "branching" based on the
> type of answer given? (i.e. if the visitor is from out-of-town, they get
> a different set of questions than a local visitor)
> 9) If your survey is not online now, do you still have the questions and
> are you willing to share them?
>
> Many thanks, and I'm happy to share the responses I get with those who
> are interested!
