Collections' Catalogue Specialist (CCS). Full-time Appointment.
Applicants must hold an M.A. in art history and have demonstrated
experience in information management, especially in database management
systems and relational databases. Preference will be given to applicants
with demonstrated experience with The Museum System (TMS). The successful
candidate will work under the supervision of the Associate Director for
Exhibitions and Publications at the YCBA and in tandem with the curatorial
team, IT, and Registrar's department. S/he will coordinate the conception,
development, organization, and implementation of the full-scale scholarly
cataloguing of the collections, which will appear ultimately in both
printed and digital form. S/he will assume leadership responsibilities in
the development of TMS as a scholarly tool and will have primary
responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the scholarly aspects
of the cataloguing process. The CCS will have the responsibility of
determining the ways in which TMS, possibly in concert with other data
management systems, can be best used to support the needs of a variety of
users of the collection, both those in-house and those seeking remote
