Something entertaining and useful at the same time for the weekend:

Finnish first cultural heritage reuse competition hack4.fi ended 2 days ago
and we published today at Play Store our 2nd prize winning entry –

Sift.pics which is a crowdsourcing photo sorting app for harvesting basic
categorisations for heritage images (interior / exterior, viewpoint on the
ground / raised viewpoint, general view / close-up etc).

We start with 2 picture sets from our neighboring countries:
* more 1100 pictures from 1910s by famous estonian photographer Johannes
Pääsuke and
* more than 900 pictures by finnish photographer Signe Brander from the
same era.

We are going to add new albums from different repositories (Europeana,
Flickr Commons etc).

Owners of android devices, please try it out, all feedback warmly
anticipated,

Vahur Puik

@Ajapaik <https://twitter.com/Ajapaik> – our main project: a gamified
platform for crowdsouring geotags and rephotographs for historic images
(similar to historypin.org in the end goal, but different in process)
