The Virginia Historical Society just completed a 4-year long conservation and cleaning of the Memorial Military Murals by Charles Hoffbauer<http://www.vahistorical.org/hoffbauer/>. There are four main murals, two measuring 26'x14' and the largest two spanning 36'x14', and four smaller flanking panels that are 3.5'x14'. They fill a large gallery in the original part of our headquarters building in Richmond, Virginia. Much more information about the murals can be found through the link above. Now that the murals are clean, we need photos - high resolution, evenly lit, color accurate, reproduction quality photos.
Can anyone make a recommendation on who might be qualified, equipped, and interested in tackling such a project? Additionally, for those of you who have photographed large interior murals before, what sorts of things should we be considering and planning for as we go forward? We need to have photos in hand by the end of the summer. Many thanks, Meg M. Eastman Digital Collections Manager Virginia Historical Society [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> 804.340.2275
