You need to put the object into a 'light tent,' which is a mini-studio made
from translucent material. The camera then looks into the tent to
photograph the object, and you site your lights outside the walls of the
tent. It creates a very even soft lighting effect, all over the object, and
removes the reflections and harsh 'catchlight' reflections that you see
without such a facility. Studio photographers making images of jewellery
use light tents a lot. You can also construct your own temporary version
using some bulldog clips and fine muslin or cotton.
