In this friendly and creative environment, we are looking for a Web Editor (Social Media) to join the editorial team for wellcomecollection.org as we build new global audiences, and deepen engagement with our existing public and professional audiences. Together with an outstanding interdisciplinary team of curators, researchers, collections specialists and communicators, you will build on and develop our outstanding social media presence and website, positioning Wellcome Collection as a sector leader. Working for our truly eclectic museum and library, your field will encompassing such topics as graphic design, migration, and what nature means to a city as varied and busy as London. In your editorial role, you will be responsible for: · Creating and managing engaging and collaborative content for our social media channels · Researching, writing and commissioning other online content for our audiences. You'll also be working on the site's functional content, supporting visitors readers and researchers. To succeed in this role you'll need a good understanding of what works for audiences on social media and beyond, understand what looks good, and be handy with words. You'll be an original thinker, with a track record of producing high quality content, who can plan and meet deadlines and has an eye for detail. Your excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills and sense of humour will be accompanied by the ability to develop effective, collaborative working relationships and work as part of a team to achieve results.
