Hello MCN, The Division of Imaging and Visual Services at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. has an opening for a contract photographer to begin October 1st, 2017. This is a one-year (12 month) contract position with possibility of renewal.
The contract photographer will work on a variety of collection documentation projects. With an emphasis on photographic reproduction of fine art objects duties will include production of digital files and ink-jet prints and some event photography. Required qualifications include knowledge of traditional photography with experience using full frame high-end DSLRs and medium format digital backs. Advanced experience with digital imaging techniques, digital imaging software (including Photoshop), and ink-jet printing is also required. Experience photographing works of art for a cultural heritage organization is preferred.
