Committed to nurturing artistic invention and bringing creative experiences to the broadest possible audiences, The Shed, led by Artistic Director and CEO Alex Poots, is a 21st-century space of and for New York City. *About the Position* The VX/AV Support Specialist is responsible for first-level onsite technical support of all aspects of the visitor experience (VX) and audio visual (AV) that are managed by the Shed’s internal Technology team. These systems include the Shed’s Digital Signage System (DSS), box office and point of sale technology, visitor wi-fi connectivity and visitor mobile technology experiences in the Shed galleries and performance spaces. The candidate will be expected to quickly and efficiently identify, troubleshoot, solve first-level technical issues before escalating issues to 2nd level resources for resolution. The position is part of the larger internal Shed technology team and will receive support from this team and a network of other external technical support partners for providing technical assistance to ensure outstanding visitor experience for anyone attending a Shed event. *Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to* ● Provide technical support for all hardware components of the Shed’s custom-built Digital Signage System (DSS) ● Provide technical support for the Content Management System (CMS) that schedules and plays back content for the Shed’s DSS experience ● Support all Point of Sale (POS) hardware technology for the Shed box office and gift shop; this includes ticket printers, ticket scanners, and mobile touch screen devices ● Provide 1st level technical support for the Chexology coat checking platform ● Assist with projection, wi-fi, and conferencing needs for visitors using Shed rental spaces ● Troubleshoot and escalate issues with the Shed’s visitor wi-fi portal ● Serve as a support liaison between the Technology department and onsite Shed food and beverage and gift shop partners ● Document contact lists, documentation, and SLAs for all vendors and partners needed for VX support ● Be part of after hours on call support team for all VX issues ● Help configure the existing helpdesk ticketing system to accommodate the submission, logging and data collection of all VX issues ● Keep track of all VX equipment and maintain accurate information in the equipment inventory system *Secondary Responsibilities* ● Serve as a back up to the Employee Experience (EX) Support Specialist who provides office IT support to the Shed staff ● Assist the Shed production and broadcast departments in accessing Technology department resources for video web streaming of live events *Qualifications and Qualities* ● Excellent communication and customer service skills ● Must be self-motivated, take ownership of VX support and work well in a team environment ● Experience interfacing with public on technical support issues ● Experience with G-Suite or Office 365 ● Experience with Tessitura’s Ticketing and Fundraising CRM a plus ● Experience with any digital signage content management system a plus ● A love of and connection to the performing and/or visual arts is mandatory ● At least 2 years previous experience in 1st level IT support environment ● Evening and weekend work will be required. Required availability for on-call after-hours IT support rotation *Compensation* Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
