About the Position The Business Intelligence Developer supports various departments and the executive team by designing and developing solutions that provide data for making important business decisions. The Business Intelligence Developer will contribute to a fast-paced and evolving business intelligence team. The person performing this job will be required to program efficiently in Sisense and T-SQL. Additionally, responsibilities will include developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. Most importantly, this individual will have experience working with a modern business intelligence system, like Sisense, that uses an ETL process to migrate data out of disparate data silos and into a consolidated data warehouse to be used for reporting and dashboarding. The Business Intelligence Developer will also serve as an analyst and will need to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, solicit requirements, and transform those requirements into actionable business intelligence solutions. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to — Designing, testing, and deploying ETL processes using Integration Services (SSIS) and reports using Reporting Services (SSRS), as well as other business intelligence and reporting tools, such as Sisense — Developing strategies for managing data models and cubes to deliver specific data for user requests — Integration and development of new business intelligence tools that will enhance and improve overall reporting techniques and delivery — Adding new data elements or source systems to the data warehouse loading process, including development, testing, and deployment — Managing tasks and assignments via the Business Intelligence Zendesk queue — Creating and modifying reports that adhere to established guidelines — Designing, creating, and modifying dashboards in the Sisense console — Monitoring the integrity of the data in load processing, database and web applications — Working one-on-one with end users to help them with questions on business intelligence interfaces and functionality — Assist in the training/development of departmental power users Secondary Responsibilities — Database/application support for the ticketing and fundraising CRM system, the general ledger and accounting systems and the venue scheduling system — Documentation of ticketing and fundraising CRM relational database and associated business rules and processes — Help establish an enterprise data dictionary for the organization — Serve on the data governance team to ensure the integrity and accuracy of business intelligence data Qualifications and Qualities — Bachelor’s degree in software development or data science related field — Expertise in Sisense or similar enterprise BI tool like Tableau, Qlik Sense or Power BI — Experience with data warehouse systems using both relational and dimensional schemas desirable — Proficiency in T-SQL — Experience designing and deploying objects in the Microsoft BI suite (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) — Experience designing and writing enterprise-level ETL processes, reports and dashboards — Excellent verbal and written communications skills. — Strong analytical skills — Be able to translate client business goals into specifications that are the foundation for relevant and actionable business intelligence dashboards and reports — Driven to learn new technologies and contribute meaningful solutions to the business intelligence team — Experience working in an agile development environment — Experience with .NET, Ruby, or PHP a plus — Experience with Team Foundation Server, Github or other source control systems a plus — Experience with Tessitura CRM, Intacct, Artifax, and Google Analytics a plus — A love of and connection to the performing and/or visual arts is mandatory! — Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment — Evening and weekend work may be required. Required availability for on-call after-hours IT support rotation *Compensation* Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
