Media Producer: 

 

We are seeking a creative media producer with exceptional technical skills to 
produce our digital storytelling for our website, social media feeds, and 
exhibitions projects to help us engage audiences and fulfill our educational 
mission.  Based in Digital Services, a division of thriving digital 
initiatives, this position is responsible for the digital pre-production, 
production, and post-production to create a cohesive and creative final 
product.  In collaboration with other stakeholders, this position will tell our 
digital story by using archival digital files and/or filming/recording new 
footage as well as editing footage, enhancing recordings, and inserting 
graphics, sound, close captioning, etc.   

 

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in communications, 
media, visual art, film, or multimedia with a minimum 3 years of experience or, 
in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in media, 
art, communication photography, videography and/or technology.  The successful 
candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive ability and skill in working with 
raw footage, video production and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere.  
Additionally, the successful candidate must have exceptional creative skills, a 
proven ability to visualize complex concepts and ideas, and project management 
skills.  This position also requires a proficiency in Microsoft Office and an 
ability to learn and use museum specific software/databases, knowledge of 
current professional standards of video/audio codecs and file wrappers and a 
thorough understanding of accessibility standards, media content, video 
production and video sharing as it relates to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, 
etc.  The media producer must demonstrate effective communication skills, an 
ability to collaborate with others, flexibility in an evolving work 
environment, and exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.  
Prefer proficiency in professional video and audio editing software programs, 
knowledge of and willingness to learn new and cutting-edge technology, and 
experience working behind a camera and using GoPro. 

 

This is a full-time position working Mondays-Fridays.
