I wish I could be of help, but I have a similar problem, and wrote this to the list, but got no response. My wife's HD crashed, and I mean really crashed. That is another subject. Anyway I set up an account for her in MDII for her to get her mail. It gets the mail OK, but will not send. I get the following requester: SMTP host has failed, we sent " host responds header 554 5.0.0 non-RFC 822.2822 compliant. There isn't a bloody " anywhere in the configuration, or in the mail itself when checked with the edit function, except around her name in the body of the message. Aside from her name, password, user id, and email address, her configuration is the same as mine, and all those are in exactly the same format. What gives? Mail on my main account goes right out, whether from a news posting or occasionally from email itself. BTW, except for the person specific parts my mail config is the same in both. YAM works fine for her.
