Tony Scott said about Jim Coon's advice to Paul (not sure which Paul),

| However if the
| requirement for pitch control etc. is unnecessary, a bottom end recording
| deck like a Sony 320 may be available for less than the price of the cheap
| portable you were asking after. ... A deck will of course give you far
| more flexibility and if you are using your own first generation discs as a
| source gives the capability to make digital copies, which you wouldn't be
| able to do with a portable player.

One cannot make digital copies between a 722 (such as Paul owns, the unit
he wants to complement) and a 320; neither has digital output. If Paul wants
to be able to copy MDs digitally, he'll need a fancier deck than the 320.
(I have heard that the 330 will have digital output, though.) A portable
player, as he first asked about, won't make that possible either, as Tony
said, for they, too, lack digital output.
