Because shit happens. Just because it fell a shorter distance and on softer
ground doesn't mean it shouldn't have happened. Perhaps the initial fall
loosened something, but didn't completely dislodge until the 2nd fall. That
is one possibility.
But that will teach you not to be careful. As human as we all may be, you
still need to take care of your stuff. And yes, it is possible ... just take
a look at my track record. All my devices love me back because I don't have
accidents with them 3#-)
