Internationally speaking, no difference according to a lot of people's
experiences. However, here in Australia, I find that we might be
experiencing a batch problem with our Sony MD's because I've had numerous
problems with regard to dropouts, break-up of the audio and whatnot. TDK's,
on the other hand, have been absolutely reliable for me so that is good news
3#-)

As for sound quality, if you seriously believe that you can get a crispier
or better defined sound out of one brand compared to another, you've got
rocks in your head. Digital bits are digital bits. The resolution of the
encoding does not change simply because you use a different brand disc. You
can minimise your errors, and therefore dropouts and whatnot, but that's
more a reliability issue than a sound quality issue.

Subject: MD: Differences between blank minidiscs...

Hi guys and gals,

I bet it's not a simple topic to answer, but I wonder what are the real

differences
between blank minidisc brands such as sony, basf, tdk, others...

 sound quality? reliability?, etc..

Is it worth buying Sony instead of TDK for example?
