If it were something important enough to me that's the way I would go. Almost
every MD deck has a TOSlink optical/digital output. Unfortunately this is a
feature that has been omitted from the portables (Sony's original portable-MZ-1,
did have one)
Know one seems to know why they did away with that feature. I can speculate.
But it would only be as good as the next person on the lists guess.
