But ATRAC compresses less than MPEG layer 3... it is closer to MPEG layer
1. So the situation, unless ATRAC has a highly compressed variant that
sounds as good as layer 3, is even worse.
This does not herald the dawn of solid state audio. It is merely a very
early step on the path.
