It's probably because you recorded in mono instead of recording in stereo.
Recording in mono allows you to double your recording time, i.e., 74 min
become 148 min.

I just recorded over 140mins worth of stuff onto a Sony MD...
I cannot see how that is possible, but all the tracks seem to be there...
any anyone shed some light?? I was under the impression that it was a 74min
