I should have looked at the upcoming ad the other day, when I posted about
the arrival of that new Audiophase MD player, for it is now on sale this
week. Regularly $129.99, the Audiophase MDP1 is currently on sale for
$99.99, through the end of the week. It is actually planogrammed in the MD
Portable section, so Best Buy intends for it to be locked up rather than
merchandised on a peghook. (I imagine, though, that some stores that have
their MD section in a high-bay gondola, *may* merchandise it on a peghook
since they would have a grid available to them, but I am not certain of
this.) I've taken a look at it, incidentally, and it looks very much like
an older Sony model. I don't think this is a coincidence. Perhaps
Audiophase has an arrangement with Sony to sell an older Sony MD portable
under their own name....
