If you don't have a Sony, don't worry about it. If you have a Sony, you
will kick yourself and cuss Sony out, everytime you mess up a good
recording because of it. They still think they are dealing with a tape
recorder, the fools.
Basically if you record something on a previously recorded disk, or
record something and then check to see how many minutes and seconds the
recording is, and forget to press END SEARCH, you will scrap your
previously recorded tracks. If you record on a new blank and don't go
back and listen to part of anything while the recording is being made,
you will be ok, but usually, at least once, you will want to hear what
it sounds like. If you forget to hit END SEARCH because you haven't need
ed it before, the new recording is history. How can a company that
comes up with such a great recorder be so darn stupid and keep making
the same stupid design mistake? Seems to me they need to take a look at
what the competition is doing. Also take a look at what their own home
deck division is doing. They got it right the first time.
I still love my Sony R30 and wouldn't trade it for any other brand but I
hate the stupid END SEARCH button.
