Actually, it probably does from a technical standpoint. I bet the skips
don't happen until after you've been jogging for a minute or so. Mine
does the same thing.
The problem is that the MD stores up to 40 seconds of "buffer" as it is
playing. When it gets bumped, instead of audibly skipping, it uses up a
second or two of the buffer. It then refills the buffer while it's
playing normally. The problem is that if it is constantly being bumped (a
la jogging), it never gets the chance to refill the buffer.
The solution for me was to carry the MD in my hand where it doesn't
bounce as much.

The Koss KSC/35 and Porta Pro Jr. are, IMHO, the best phones under $30.
They are the same phones except the KSC/35 are made for active use. They
have no headband, and instead clip to each ear. Very comfortable, and
they *stay* on your ears. You can get a good description of them at:
